Photography is an essential aspect of every article in our community lifestyle network, and we endeavour to provide high-quality, non-stock imagery to maximise our readers’ experience. We are always looking for professional photographers to work alongside our writers and editors to achieve this goal.
If you are a professional photographer or a student in a photography program with a keen interest in your community, we would love to hear from you.

THE ROLE
We are seeking a talented and reliable Business Writer/ Editor to join our remote team. In this role, you will be the storytelling voice for our local business advertisers. You will craft and refine engaging, positive business profiles that connect independent businesses with their local communities, residents, and visitors.
If you have a knack for discovering what makes a small business special and translating that into compelling, uplifting copy, we want to hear from you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Write, Edit & Polish: Craft engaging business profiles from scratch (based on briefs, questionnaires, or short interviews) and refine client-submitted profiles to ensure they meet AMG’s positive editorial guidelines, tone, and formatting standards. This includes using AI tools responsibly to assist with content creation, strictly in accordance with the AMG AI Policy.
Client Communication: Act as a responsive and professional point of contact for our business customers, maintaining availability to answer questions and coordinate profile details via telephone or WhatsApp.
Brand Voice: Maintain our uplifting, community-focused editorial voice across all assigned profiles.
Project Management: Manage multiple freelance assignments simultaneously, meeting all editorial deadlines and communicating effectively with the internal AMG team.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional experience in copywriting, journalism, content marketing, or editorial writing (experience writing for lifestyle or local publications is a huge plus).
Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a sharp eye for detail.
Communication & Availability: Must be highly responsive and comfortable communicating directly with business customers via telephone or WhatsApp during standard Australian business hours.
Independence: Highly organised self-starter who thrives in a fully remote, freelance environment.
Vibe: A positive mindset and a genuine interest in supporting and championing Australian small businesses.
Technical: Comfortable using standard content management systems (CMS) and basic digital collaboration tools.
Legal: Must have a valid ABN and the right to work as an independent contractor in Australia.
